Dark Star Orchestra will be playing several upcoming dates without their usual rhythm guitarist Rob Eaton, the band announced today in a statement.

“Due to unforeseen family health circumstances Rob Eaton on rhythm guitar and vocals is unable to join us for shows March 30 – April 12,” the post reads. DSO kick off their spring dates March 30 in Charlottesville, VA. According to the band’s timeline, Eaton will miss that show and eight more of their gigs, in Baltimore, Washington, DC, Atlanta and more. The guitarist’s first show back should be April 13 in Charleston, SC.

DSO’s statement also notes that during Eaton’s absence, the band will be playing “the music of Jerry Garcia Band plus songs from the Grateful Dead repertoire.”
