New Orleans horn outfit The Soul Rebels played a three-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl last week, wrapping up the run with a Saturday finale that featured a number of special guests—announced and otherwise—including guitarist/vocalist Marcus King, TAB saxophonist James Casey, Snarky Puppy keyboardist/vocalist Cory Henry, trumpeters Keyon Harrold and Maurice Brown, saxophonist Chelsea Baratz and more.

Throughout the night, King joined the band for covers of Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child” and James Brown’s “Pass the Peas, while Henry helped out on a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground,” and Harrold came up for “Respected Destroyer” (also featuring Baratz) and “Spanish Joint.” All of the night’s guests returned to the stage for an extended encore jam.
