Tim Bluhm, guitarist and vocalist for California stalwarts The Mother Hips, has rejoined the band’s spring tour following an emergency appendectomy he underwent last week on March 21.

“I’m excited to get back on the road,” Bluhm says. “Our relationship with fans is such a huge part of who we are. Getting to play for them is one of the best parts of what we do.”

Bluhm’s first show back was last night at McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, CA, and will also play tonight at Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. See their full schedule here.

The Mother Hips’ spring dates are the first tour since Bluhm suffered a near-fatal speed flying accident in 2016 that cause an extended band hiatus. The group will return with their first studio album in five years, Chorus, on June 8, and they recently debuted the video for new single “It’s Alright” via Relix.
