STS9 will host their new California festival dubbed Wave Spell this August, and the four-day gathering will feature an extensive supporting lineup of fellow jamtronica acts and more.

Along with nine sets from the host band—including three improvisational, Wave Spell sets—the festival will include music from Edit, Ooah, Sunsquabi, Manic Focus, Baad Quartet (featuring Borahm Lee of Pretty Lights, STS9’s Alana Rocklin, Lettuce’s Adam Deitch and Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli), Charlesthefirst, Michal Menert, Prefuse 73, Telefon Tel Aviv, Maddy O’Neal, Electric Beethoven and many more.

“We’re proud to present a new experience, a small intimate festival focused completely on music, art, and community,” the band writes, noting that Wave Spell will only sell 1,200 tickets. “We envision a small utopia where the music and art flow constantly, nonstop at all hours, day and night. We plan to take over Belden Town in Northern Cali, and create a space where you can get away and immerse yourself in all sorts of activities: workshops, yoga, swimming, beach, and so much more!”

Wave Spell is set for August 16–19 in Belden Town, CA. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 8. Visit the festival’s website here.
