Mark Vann Tribute Show Scheduled for Tonight

Several musicians will come together for ‘A Musical Memorial Tribute to the Late Mark Vann’ tonight at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA. Leftover Salmon was originally scheduled to play at the venue tonight, but cancelled the show due to Marks passing. Tonights concert will feature Rev. Jeff Mosier (banjo), Jeff Sipe (drums), Ike Iziks (keyboards),Charlie Wooten (bass), Count Imbutu (percussion), members of the Count M’butu Orchestra, Curtis Jones (guitar) and other surprise guests. Vinyl will open the show. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10. All proceeds will benefit Vanns family.

Following the show, Mosier will perform a solo banjo tribute to Mark at the nearby Brandyhouse. Other special performances will take place.

Widespread Panic Confirms European Tour

Widespread Panic has announced plans for a European tour this spring. The ten-show tour kicks off May 16 at Melkweg in Amsterdam, Holland and includes dates in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France and England.

Hope Clayburn Performs with Umphrey’s McGee

Deep Banana Blackout’s Hope Clayburn took the stage with Umphrey’s McGee last night at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Clayburn played saxophone on The Stranger -> RumnStewart -> The Next Movement during the second set. She then returned for the first encore and added flute to August and saxophone to Ringo.

Melvin Sparks to Jam with The Waz

ekoostik hookah to Record Live Album; Give Away Trip to Jamaica

ekoostik hookah has announced plans to release a live album. The group will record its shows March 15 and 16 at the Agora Theatre in Cleveland, OH and March 29 and 30 at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH. The band also plans to spend three weeks in the studio.

Fans attending the March 29 show will have an opportunity to win a trip to Negril, Jamaica, when the band travels there for three shows during the week of April 10 17. The winner and a guest will receive airfare, 7 nights hotel accommodations, roundtrip airport transfers and concert tickets.
