Here are some wonderful images from Marc Millman at Jazz Fest 2012. Stop by Relix.com tomorrow for more…

Bruce Hornsby – Gentilly Stage featuring Bonerama horns for a jam that included “Estimated Prophet.” Hornsby also covered “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” for Levon.

Mavis Staples – Gospel Tent Of course after a wonderful gospel tinged set, she went back to the Secular Soul music that made her a star and finished up with the Staple Singers’ “I’ll Take You There”

Donald Harrison – Congo Square who went more Soul & Funk than Jazz for his set. A highlight was his cover of “Feel Like Makin’ Love” made famous by Roberta Flack (his version was reminiscent of Bob James’ 1974 instrumental version).

Grace Potter & The Nocturnals – Acura Stage She paid tribute early in her set to MCA by starting to chant “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” and then going into Fight For Your Right To Party

Bonerama – Gentilly Stage featuring Irene Sage for last two songs which were covers of the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” and “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking.”
