Trey to Pitch at Wrigley

Before performing at Chicago’s Charter One Pavilion with G.R.A.B. tomorrow night, Trey Anastasio will throw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field. Anastasio is scheduled to throw out his pitch at approximately 1:20 PM, shortly before the Chicago Cubs play the Houston Astros. In other Anastasio news, despite his initial hesitations, the guitarist has begun to offer songs from Phishs canon with Mike Gordon. Over the past few days the former Phish members have rolled out a number of a songs from their former band, including Waste, Poor Heart and Mexican Cousin.

Galactic Lend Harp to UM

2006 may very well be remembered as the summer of multi-band tour packages. The latest batch friends to hit the road for a series of collaboration heavy performances are Umphreys McGee and Galactic, who are currently working their way through the Northeast. Last night, the longtime friends performed at New Hampshire’s Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. At the start of Umphrey’s McGee’s second set, Galactic’s Ben Ellman emerged, playing Huey Lewis harmonica parts on Women Wine and Song, as well as Tribute to the Spinal Shaft and Resolution. Umphreys McGee will perform at Northampton, MAs The Pines Theatre at Look Park tonight , before linking-up with Galactic for a performance at New Yorks Central Park SummerStage tomorrow.

Twice the Kimock with the Everyone Orchestra

On Monday, the Everyone Orchestra wrapped up its first official tour. In addition to conductor Matt Butler, this outings incarnation of the Everyone Orchestra consisted of Steve Kimock, Chris Haugen (Axis Brothers) Samantha Stollenwerck, Jamie Janover, the colorful Mojow & the Vibration Army and Mike Sugar (Jambay). As expected a number of surprise guests also joined the Everyone Orchestra on the road. At San Franciscos Independent, socially conscious hip hopper Blane Lyon and harpstress Eah filtered onstage during the groups set. At the Mystic Theatre , both Kimocks Zero bandmate Greg Anton and his sonJohn Morgan Kimock improvised with the group. At the Everyone Orchestras Potrero Park performance, fans also donated over 1600 pairs of new socks and underwear to Project Homeless Collect. The Everyone Orchestra will perform at the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival this weekend with a new cast of players including members of Hot Buttered Rum and Tea Leaf Green.

Jim Pollock to Raffle Off Free Posters at HeadCount During 10,000 Lakes

Jim Pollock has stepped up to help HeadCount’s Midterms Matter Tour. The longtime Phish artist has donated a special series of uncut artist’s proofs of his 10,000 Lakes Music Festival poster to help spread HeadCount’s ‘Midterms Matter’ message. The posters will be raffled off at HeadCount’s booth throughout the festival, scheduled to take place in Detroit Lakes, MN from July 19-22. Each proof is specially signed by Pollock and features the motto ‘Midterms Matter.’ While only a few months into the summer, HeadCount has registered nearly 3,000 voters since Memorial Day weekend. The non-profit, non-partisan organization will be at festivals throughout the summer and on the road with bands like the Dave Matthews Band and O.A.R.

Time Changes for STS9

STS9 will spend much of the fall touring in support of its first concert DVD, Live as Time Changes. The quintet has spent most of the summer off the road, working on some new material and prepping its new DVD. The group will kickoff its tour August 25 at Glen Allen, VAs Innsbrook Pavilion, with G. Love supplying support duties. As of press time, STS9s fall tour is scheduled to wrap up October 7 at Lake Buena Vista, FLs House of Blues. On September 9, STS9 is also scheduled to headline a night at Morrison, COs Red Rocks with Jurassic 5.
