Of all Green Apple's participating artists, Blues Traveler may very well hold the record for most New York performances. Since forming in late-1980s, Blues Traveler has worked its way up-and-down Manhattan's maze of clubs, theaters and arenas, stopping by such Green Apple venues as Irving Plaza, the Nokia Theater and CBGBs. While it is believed that Blues Traveler only performed at CBGBs twice, the group's first appearance is particular memorable. On February 21, 1994, Blues Traveler offered the first full-band reading of its soon-to-be hit-single "Run Around" at CBGBs and brought Warren Haynes out for a number of songs including a show-closing version of "Sweet Talking Hippie." As previously reported, Blues Traveler will make its first appearance at the Jammy Awards on April 20 and a perform a late-night show at the intimate Rothko following the ceremony.
