The famous VW bus from Wetlands Preserve was installed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night in Cleveland, OH. The bus, still plastered with hundreds of band stickers, is positioned at the entrance of the museum between ZZ Tops truck and Janis Joplins Corvet. The Phish hot dog also hangs above it. I have so many great memories from Wetlands, says former owner Pete Shapiro. But one of my best experiences was walking in the museum last night and seeing the bus. It was surreal. At one point, I put my hand on it and a security officer instructed me not to touch it. Its now under the watchful eye of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The display includes a plaque, which details the history of Wetlands. The venue closed last September.
