Bockman’s Euphio will perform acoustically for the first time this weekend. The group will play two shows: Friday at the Central Tap in Columbia, MO and Saturday at the Lamp Room in St. Louis. The Joe Stickley Trio will also appear. In October, Bockman’s Euphio plans to release its debut album, which is yet to be titled.
The group draws its name from Kurt Vonneguts short story The Euphio Question. According to the bands website , Dr. Bockman’s invention utilized what is known as Bockman’s Euphoria, a mysterious void in space that gave off powerful radio signals. When amplified and retransmitted, those signals gave off incomparable, continuous happiness. Bockman’s Euphio was and is the transmitter.
