Phish bassist Mike Gordon sat in with Max Creek Saturday night at the Wormtown Music Festival in Russell, MA. Gordon emerged in the second set for Season of the Witch -> Youre The Only One, Free Born Man, Love Makes You Lose Your Mind and Windows, which closed the set. He then returned for the two-song encore, Angel From Montgomery and Just A Rose, with Mountain of Venus’ Tanya Shylock adding vocals to the former.
Former Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten joined the group for Down on the Corner. Jiggle Drummer Greg Vasso played drums for the entire show and The Recipes Kris Kehr sat in for Youre the Only One and Free Born Man. Other special guests included Glen Nelson (Flipper Dave) and Reverend Tor.
Drummer Greg DeGuglielmo also took the stage at the end of the first set for Band From Chicago and Gimme Shelter. On January 25, 1997 in Ann Arbor, MI, DeGuglielmo, Gordon, Max Creek Guitarist Scott Murawski and Gordon Stone performed a one-off show as The Drop Caps. Gordon has also joined Creek several times over the years.
