Guitarist Al Schniers side project, Al & the Transamericans, will release its new album, Analog, this Friday. The band features Schnier (moe.), drummer Vinnie Amico (moe.), banjoist Gordon Stone (Gordon Stone Band), bassist Erik Glockler (Strangefolk) and keyboardist Kirk Juhas (freebeerandchicken). The album was recorded this past summer at David Lowerys studio in Richmond, VA. Lowery (Cracker) makes a guest appearance on the track 20th Century Man. The disc also includes live staples such as Guitar, Punchline and Me & Pat & Bill & You.
This Friday, the Transamericans will play a CD release show at the Electric Company in Utica, NY. For details, visit www.alschnier.com.
