Percy Hill has announced plans to release a live album this spring. Material on the disc was recorded at the Rochester Opera House on September 21, 2002, when the group performed as a 13-piece ensemble including a horn section and back-up vocalists. The concert was one of three reunion shows played by the band last fall. An official release date has not yet been set. Several previously unreleased originals will be included on the album.
In other news, keyboardist Nate Wilson and bassist John Leccese (both also members of Reid Genauer and the Assembly of Dust) have been hired to produce a score for the film Second Best. The movie stars Joe Pantaliano (_The Matrix_, The Sopranos), Jennifer Tilly (_Bound_, Liar Liar) and Bronson Pinchot (Balky from TV’s Perfect Strangers). While production is underway, there is still no word on a release date.
Finally, Percy Hill does have one confirmed gig on the horizon. The band will appear at Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH on February 20. More spring dates will be announced soon.
