Gov’t Mule drummer Matt Abts and former Allman Brothers Band keyboardist Johnny Neel will tour together this month as X2 (Experimental Duo). The jaunt kicks off March 18 at BB King’s Blues Club & Grill in New York City with Oteil and the Peacemakers, as well as other special guests. The itinerary also includes a two-night run at the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, CO on March 21 and 22. Cecil ‘P-Nut’ Daniels will appear at the first show, while the second night will feature a jam session with Abts, Neel, DJ Logic, bassist Rob Wasserman and guitarist Brian Jordan (Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe).
X2 will also play March 24 at Sherpa and Yeti’s in Breckenridge, CO, March 25 at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO and March 26 at 32 Blue in Colorado Springs. More dates will be added.
