Widespread Panic has announced the release of its 8th studio album, Ball, due out April 15. The disc features all new material, which has never been performed by the band in concert. Recording was done at longtime friend and producer John Keanes studio in Athens, GA. It was a wide open process,’ says drummer Todd Nance. ‘The word ‘no’ was never uttered. We had this opportunity, whether it was welcome or not, to start fresh, so we started from square 1 to see if this thing would stand on its own. It worked out pretty well.’ Ball is the first Widespread Panic studio release to include guitarist George McConnell, who joined the group following the passing of Michael Houser last August.
Several CD release parties will be held around the country on Monday, April 14. For complete details, visit www.widespreadpanic.com.
