Multiple special guests joined Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey last night at Harpers Ferry in Allston, MA as the trios April residency continued. Previously announced guest saxophonist Sam Kininger (Soulive, Lettuce) performed with the band for the majority of the show. Midway through the set, Keyboardists Rob Marscher (Addison Groove Project) and Marco Benevento emerged for some extended improvisation, which at one point included a four-keyboardist attack, when Jacob Fred bassist Reed Mathis joined in on the ivories. Drummer Joe Russo (Laverneus Cool) also sat in for a portion of the show.
Jacob Freds Wednesday residency at the Mercury Lounge in New York City rolls on tonight. Kininger will once again join the group. For more details, visit www.jfjo.com.
