MANCHESTER, TN Although music was not scheduled to begin until Friday, fans will get four unannounced sets of music tonight at Bonnaroo. Louque and Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra will perform in This Tent, while the Hackensaw Boys are slated for That Tent. Meanwhile, Pink Floyd cover band The Machine will play The Other Tent (the main stage has been named What Stage and the second stage is referred to as Which Stage). Speaking of cover bands, there are other previously unannounced sets scheduled throughout the weekend, including Soft Parade (The Doors), Sticky Fingers (Rolling Stones) and Mr. Brownstone (Guns n Roses).
For many, Thursday was spent waiting in traffic and setting up camp in the mud, but its not as bad as it sounds. The traffic situation is much better than last year, as there are three separate routes going in (as opposed to one in 2002). Although the forecast called for rain today, weve lucked out thus far. Its been partly cloudy with a couple hours of sun.
