MMW keyboardist John Medeski will appear with the Blind Boys of Alabama on their Go Tell It On The Mountain album. The disc, slated for a September 16 release, will also feature appearances by Tom Waits, Solomon Burke, Chrissie Hynde, Aaron Neville, Mavis Staples and Shelby Lynne. In addition Medeski will take to road with the Blind Boys later this year in support of the recording.
The Blind Boys’ next show is on Tuesday at Ramshead in Annapolis, MD. MMW are off until this Friday at Reina Sofia Park in Ibiza, Spain.
