Soulive welcomed several special guests to the stage last night at the Lions Den in New York City. Regular collaborator Sam Kininger added saxophone to a few songs in the first set including Hurry UpAnd Wait. Talib Kweli, J-Live and Wordsworth joined the trio for a hip hop segment to begin the second set. Drummer Adam Deitch (John Scofield) then played drums during Do It Again, with Alan Evans stepping out in front on vocals.
Soulive plays tomorrow at Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ along with Medeski Martin & Wood, String Cheese Incident, The Disco Biscuits and The Flaming Lips. For more dates, visit www.soulive.com.
