Plenty of action took place in the Syracuse area this past weekend (even if, alas, rooting for the college hoops team was not on the agenda). First off, moe. performed two gigs at the Action Sports Center in Mattydale during which former Jambands.com news editor Jeff Waful served as lighting director. Apparently Waful acquitted himself rather well and has been invited to join the band for its next run of shows which will begin with a three night stand at the House of Blues in Las Vegas (with plenty of folks in town to check out the pre-moe. gigs at the Thomas and Mack Center as well). As for the music, highlights included ‘Head’ bookends on Friday night and an acoustic opening set (one of three) on Saturday. Back to Friday (or actually early Saturday morn.), moe. guitarist Al Schnier sat in with the Unbelievable Meltdown (formerly a440) for the band’s ‘Through The Prism’ following at Bull & Bear Pub in Syracuse.
