Tomorrow at the Boulder Resrvoir, area radio station KBCO hosts the 25th Annual Kinetics. At this event, teams design crafts to race over land and water, and then are then judged for costumes, sculpture, team style and engineering. The event was rescheduled from last week due to inclement weather and now the Motet has stepped in (along with Fastball) to provide a soundtrack to the action live from Reservoir Beach.
In other Motet news, the group’s founder, drummer Dave Watts, debuted his Pig Latin All-Stars on Wednesday at the Southern Sun in Boulder. The roster included Motet bandmates Garrett Sayers and Dominic Lalli along with Jamie Janover, Derek VanScotten (Cabaret Diosa) and Adam Rivell (Onda). Michael Travis sat in on percussion as well. Following Kinetics the Motet is off the road until mid-June to complete its forthcoming studio release.
