Last night at the University of Vermont’s Ira Allen Chapel, Yonder Mountain String Band welcomed Tim O’Brien to the stage over the course of the night. O’Brien, who produced the group’s Town by Town album, appeared during the first set for six songs including his own ‘Family History’ as well as Yonder’s ‘Deep Pockets,’ and covers of ‘Old Plank Road’ and ‘My Gal.’ Later O’Brien returned for ‘Sharecropper’s Son’ and ‘Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Loud Music.’ O’Brien will open for Yonder and quite possibly join the quartet once again on Halloween at Bogarts in Cincinnati.
