Marc Brownstein, Jamie Shields, and Joe Russo will perform at The L. Cool Trio on New Year’s Day. The longtime collaborators form three-fourths of Laverneus Cool, a trance-fusion super group which debuted at CODA last April. The three musicians will intersect at New Yorks Knitting Factory on January 1, following a trio of high profile December 31 performances: The Disco Biscuits at the Hammerstein Ballroom, The Benevento/Russo Duo featuring Mike Gordon at BB King Blues Club, and the New Deal at Revolution Hall. Last year, Brownstein and Shields debuted their JM2 side project on January 1 during a day off between the Disco Biscuits and the New Deals joint tour. For those keeping score at home, Russo also performs with Brownstein in the bassists longtime side project Electron.
