The Disco Biscuits Marc Brownstein has rallied behind his old friend, and pre-Bisco bandmate, Jeff Zane. Last Tuesday, Jeffs son, Jordan, was born with a very large and very rare tumor inside his heart. Jordon is on a heart bypass machine right now and needs a heart transplant by mid week. A message posted on discobiscuits.com reads, He is on the top of the transplant list, and the only hope is to spread this message of Jordan far and wide in the NYC area, with the hope that someone may be able to turn their own tragedy into a normal life for Jordan. Sadly, over 110 babies die every day. Organs are not usually donated because the families are too distraught to think about/deal with organ donation.
With the jam-music scene behind them, the Zanes story was picked up New Yorks Channel 7 and 11 news, The New York Post, and The NY Daily News. The New York Organ Donor Network number is 800-GIFT4NY. The family can be contacted at [email protected].. Please check out the Zanes webpage, jordanzane.com, for more information.
