The Steve Kimock & Friends five-show run wrapped up over the weekend and offered a number of unique moments. Kimock, who rarely sings(few but the FLOKs among us may recall that on 2/11/97 while performing with the Missing Man Formation he contributed vocals to both ‘Brother John’ and ‘Rock It With I’) did just that on Saturday during a version of Compared To What.’ Earlier in the evening drummer Rodney Holmes lent his voice to the Polices Tea In The Sahara which segued into Spirits In The Material World. Along with covers, the collective’s music drew on the compositions of its members which also featured keyboardist Robert Walter and bass player Reed Mathis. In addition, during the Friday night show evening Mountain of Venuss Tanya Shylock stepped in for a take on Baby Baby.
