The word Yggdrasil is said to come from Norse mythology where it represents the all encompassing tree of life. It also is the name of music festival that will premiere on August 6 at Harmony Park in Geneva MN. While were not sure how to pronounce it (and our spellchecker thinks were taunting any time we type it) we can report that Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, God Johnson, Hydrophonics and PHIX are among the artists set to perform. In addition, a six hole disc golf course, kayaking, artist workshops and a free hot breakfast with bluegrass accompaniment on the Sunday morning after the festival are all in the offing. The event pledges that it will donate 100% of proceeds benefit art and music education in the Minnesota public school system.
