Galactic turns ten this year and will celebrate its first decade with two shows at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s Uptown on September 9 and 10. The group will fold a number of its extended family members into the mix throughout its two-night stand including Cyril Neville, Big Chief Bo Dollis and the Wild Magnolias, Sista Teedy, Theresa Andersson, Tim Green, Know One, DJ Quicky Mart, George Porter Jr, Jon Cleary, Johnny Vidacovich and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band’s Roger Lewis, Kevin Harris and Efrem Townes. Former Galactic singer Theryl ‘The Houseman’ deClouet will also make a rare appearance with former colleagues, joining the group onstage both nights. Since the band has performed with everyone from Widespread Panic to the Counting Crows, and played everywhere from Fuji Rock to Austin City Limits, chances are a few more high-profile friends will be added to the guest list in the coming days.
