On Friday at Scrantons Pennsylvanias Montage Mountain Performing Arts Center, Warren Haynes returned to the stage with the Allman Brothers Band. As previously announced, due to family matters Haynes had missed the preceding five ABB shows. The Scranton show also featured three guitarists at times, as Jack Pearson, who had been performing in Haynes stead, joined the band for a few songs including a searing version of Dimples.
The group also welcomed additional guests to the stage over the weekend. On Saturday at Mansfield, MAs Tweeter Center, ABB-alum Chuck Leavell, who was in the area before Sundays Rolling Stones tour opener, appeared (as he had on Tuesday in Toronto)for Dreams, Jessica and Southbound. Last night in Hartford, following his bands opening set, moe.s Al Schnier stepped up for Franklins Tower. The ABB/moe. tour continues tomorrow in Holmdel, NJ.
