The Mother Hips will return from hiatus to release an EP and mount a west coast tour. The group’s first release since 2001’s _ Green Hills Of The Earth_, Red Tandy will be available as a four song CD EP and a two-side 7-inch vinyl . ‘We definitely all missed playing together, and a couple of close friends kept urging us to play shows,’ guitarist Tim Bluhm says. ‘We approach the band differently now than we did before the hiatus. There’s no pressure on us the way we do it: We all have other sources of income, and mostly aren’t dependent on the Hips making money at shows. I think of us as ‘musicians of leisure.’ ‘ The group’s tour will kick-off October 28, at Santa Barbara, CA’s SOHO and also plans to return to the studio to begin work on a full-length album.
