Les Claypool will return to the Fillmore in San Francisco on December 31 for his sixth annual New Year’s Eve show. The ‘Les Claypool Hatter’s Ball’ pledges to offer the usual high grade midnight antics, and of course there will be plenty of special treats, surprises and New Year’s mayhem for all. In addition, there will be a contest for Most Unusual Hat and an opening set from The Phenomenauts (featuring Commander Angel Nova, vocals/guitar; Corporal Joe Bot, vocals/guitar; Major Jimmy Boom, drums; Captain Chreehos, upright bass; and Professor Greg Arius on keys and effects). Claypools 5 Gallons Of Diesel DVD is due out next Tuesday, featuring footage of Oysterhead, Colonel Claypool’s Bucket of Bernie Brains, Sausage, Frog Brigade and Holy Mackerel.
