U-Melt is the latest group to confirm a New Years Eve performance in New York City. Actually, to be precise, the band will be performing a few hours into the New Year with the doors at Coda scheduled to open at 2:15 and U-Melt likely to hit by 3AM. Given the bands propensities, the music will likely extend beyond dawn. While there is much happening in NYC that evening, the band has covered the bases in emphasizing that Coda, which is located on 34 E. 34th St., is ‘easily in walking distance from The Black Crowes and The Disco Biscuits shows occurring earlier in the night at MSG and Hammerstein Ballroom (and walking distance from the Irving Plaza/Union Square and Times Square areas), as well as a short cab ride from Gov’t Mule’s show at The Beacon and many other shows and spots you might find yourself bringing in the new year.
