Over the weekend Dark Star Orchestra served as the house band for the Rex Foundations Black Tie-Dye Ball at Washington, DCs 9:30 Club. As previously reported, Donna Jean Godchaux-Mackay performed with Dark Star for much of its set, including Ripple, Let it Grow and a show opening version of The Wheel. At various points throughout the weekend, Godchaux-Mackay also shared vocal duties with her DSO sound-a-like Lisa Mackey including the encore of Lucy in the Sky and We Bid You Goodnight. As he has for much of the groups tour, Rob Barraco played keyboards throughout Dark Star Orchestras entire tour. When Barraco is unable to perform with DSO after December 14 Dan Klepinger will take over keyboard duties including the groups three-night New Year’s run in Burlington, VT.
