Headhunters stalwarts Mike Clark and Bill Summers will debut a new lineup this winter featuring a number of the jazz/funk scenes most notable names. Joining the classic rhythm section will be three first time Headhunters: bassist George Porter Jr., Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers saxophonist Donald Harrison and Melvin Sparks organist Jerry Z. The quintet will perform nine shows in January throughout the east coast, beginning with a January 19 appearance at Cambridge, MAs Regattabar at the Charles Hotel. The group will then make stops in Burlington, VT, Newmarket, NH, Providence, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, PA and Baltimore, MD before closing out their brief outing in Falls Church, VA on January 28.
