As we reported yesterday, the Disco Biscuits and Umphrey’s McGee have been added to the lineup for fifth annual Bonnaroo Music Festival. Today, Bonnaroo has also announced that the longtime friends will play a special joint late night tent performance, offering interlocking sets and, presumably, collaborate throughout the night. After first befriending Umphrey’s McGee on Jam Cruise last year, the Disco Biscuits’ Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner recruited Cinninger and Kris Myers for a handful of cuts on the debut album by their Conspirator project. Similarly, on this year’s Jam Cruise, members of Umphrey’s McGee and the Disco Biscuits performed a series of Pink Floyd and Beatles covers as the Brain Damaged Eggman.
