While vacationing in Florida, Page McConnell first saw the Spam Allstars, soon after recruiting the popular Cuban/jazz collective for Vida Blues sophomore release, _ The Illustrated Band_. At the time, few would have thought that the collaboration would last longer than an album, let alone that a Spam Allstars show would be one of the few bankable places to see McConnell perform. But, since Phish parted ways, McConnell
has kept a relatively low profile, making only a handful of public appearances, usually around Vermont when Allstars are in town. On Saturday, McConnell once again joined the Spam Allstars during its set at Burlington, VTs Nectars, playing keyboards for much of the groups set. Though McConnell has no confirmed tour dates, the Spam Allstars will perform tomorrow at Ft. Lauderdale, FLs Blue Martini.
