From Thursday through Saturday, Steve Kimock and Tim Carbone joined New Monsoon for its three-night stand at San Franciscos 12 Galaxies. Each night the guitarists joined New Monsoon for a number of special collaborations, as well as series of unique covers. On Thursday, Kimock, Carbone and New Monsoon also created a 34-minute improv jam at the start of its second set, leading into Journeyman. A night later, Martin Fierro appeared on Another Night (In Purgatory), JJ Cales The Problem and Traveling Gypsies. Later in the evening Mutt Butler, who opened the show with his trio, conducted 30 minute Everyone Orchestra-esque jam-session featuring New Monsoon and its weekend guests. Tea Leaf Greens Trevor Garrod opened the third night of New Monsoons 12 Galaxies stand, performing Taught to be Proud in its entirety for the first time. New Monsoons set also featured a variety of covers including Jerry Garcias Mission in the Rain and Marvin Gayes Inner City Blues.
