Former Grateful Dead keyboard player Tom Constanten will pay tribute to his latter-day successor, the late Vince Welnick, by performing the upcoming dates scheduled for Vince Welnick & Friends. Constanten will join the group for the six confirmed performances, backed by the members of Terrapin Flyer, who comprise the Welnick & Friends band. Constanten recently started performing with Welnick in the Psychedelic Keyboard Trio, which also featured Grateful Dead MIDI Bob Bralove (himself a Grateful Dead collaborator since the beginning in the late 80s focusing on MIDI and sound sculpting technology). The Vince Welnick & Friends tour opens on June 15 at the Chicago House of Blues and continues through June 20 at The Mill in Iowa City, IA.
