Little Freddie King will take the stage at Tipitinas this Friday as the latest performer in the free music series sponsored by the SOS Musicians Fund de France. Money was raised this past November at a concert performed by both Louisiana and French musicians at the Palais des Congres des Paris France to fund the concerts. Little Freddie King, the 66 year old New Orleans-based blues artist, was born Fread E. Martin but took on the new moniker in the early 60s after numerous people compared him to guitarist Freddie King. Next week the series will continue with a show featuring Johnny Vidacovich, Anders Osborne, Theresa Andersson, June Yamagishi, Matt Perrine, Tim Green and the Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone Band.
