RatDog and the String Cheese Incident traveled to Red Rocks Amphitheater for two big shows on Saturday and Sunday. Each night featured multiple sets of music, with Keller Williams also on the July 1 bill and the Taj Mahal Trio opening last nights music. On Saturday, a brief Keller Williams Incident took place, as Williams and his soundman Lou Gosain joined SCI for Kidney in a Cooler which opened the group’s second set. The Saturday encore featured all the members of RatDog and String Cheese on stage for a take on the Grateful Deads classic run from China Cat Sunflower into I Know You Rider. Last evening, RatDog invited the SCI percussion tandem of Michael Travis and Jason Hann on stage for The Wheel, and keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth for Samson and Delilah. A bit later, Taj Mahal joined the Cheese for Mailbox Blues, and Ballad of Stagger Lee, while RatDog also appeared for Goin’ Down the Road Feelin’ Bad. The Panjea horns appeared with SCI on and off throughout the night, for such songs as: ‘Back in Black,’ ‘Search,’ ‘Shining Star’ and ‘Tamba.’
