This past April Mickey Hart reunited with fellow Rhythm Devil Bill Kreutzmann for performances at the Jammys and the Green Apple Music Festival. This fall Hart will return to the stage with some other estimable percussionists, as Planet Drum returns for a series of west coast dates. In 1991 Hart and Zakir Hussain spearheaded the Planet Drum studio release which went on to garner the first-ever Grammy in the World Music category. This fall they will mark its fifteenth anniversary with a fellow Planet Drum core of Sikiru Adepoju and Giovanni Hidalgo. The first announced show is September 20 at the Lobrero Theater in Santa Barbara, CA and the final confirmed date is September 29 at Portlands Alladin Theatre.
