After linking up at the All Good festival over the weekend, Umphreys McGee and Galactic kick-started a brief summer tour. Last night, the two bands performed at Atlantic City, NJs House of Blues and, during a jam sandwiched between Steely Dans Hey 19 and Intentions Clear, Galactics Robert Mercurio replaced Ryan Stasick on bass. Soon after, local hero Aron Mager, of Disco Biscuits fame, joined Umphreys McGee on keyboards for its Jammy winning single In the Kitchen and Pay the Snucka.
Nodding to their time together in the Brain Damaged Eggmen, Umphreys McGee and Magner also snuck a bit of Pink Floyds Have a Cigar into a jam stored In the Kitchen. In other UM news, the sextet has confirmed another round of club dates, taking the group through the mountains, Midwest and east coast. Of particular note is a two-day pass allowing fans entry into both the groups September 21 performance at Boulder, COs Fox Theater and its September 22 date at Denvers Fillmore Auditorium. Umphreys McGee and Galactics summer tour will continue tomorrow at New Hampshires Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom.
