On August 20, the Tipitina’s Foundation will mark the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina by handing over $500,000 in new instruments to eleven New Orleans school music programs. In celebration, the Foundation will host an indoor/outdoor show at Tipitina’s Uptown, featuring the Rebirth Brass Band, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ivan Neville, Troy Andrews and Galactic. The Tipitina’s Foundation will also display its new instruments at the venue throughout the multi-band performance.
