After a nearly seven year absence, Pele Juju has confirmed a number of shows over the coming weeks. The all women’s worldbeat band will travel to Alaska for performances at the Alaska State Fair from August 30 through September 2. Then in September the group has confirmed gigs at Earth Dance (September 16, Black Oak Ranch, Laytonville CA), Ashkenaz (September 22, Berkeley CA) and The Catalyst (September 29, Santa Cruz CA). This incarnation of the band features most of the players who previously appeared with the band including: Molly Higbie (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Dana Hutson (lead vocals), Deb Lane (drums), Brindle (djembe), Afia Walking Tree (percussion) , Annie Steinhardt bass & fiddle) , Jayn Pettingill (saxophone) and Shelley Doty (guitar).
