Marco Benevento will flex his stylistic muscles next month. The keyboardist will perform with a different ensemble each Wednesday at New Yorks Tonic: November 1 (a set of Benny Goodman covers with Mike Gordon), November 8 (a performance with trumpeter Steven Bernstein as well as the Ween duo of Dave Dreiwitz and Claude Coleman), November 15 (a solo show), November 22 (a drum heavy gig with percussionists Bobby Previte, Mike Dillon and Joe Russo) and November 29 (a unique bill featuring former Pearl Jam drummer/_Play Pause Stop_ producer Matt Chamberlain and JFJO bassist Reed Mathis). Tomorrow he will appear in a more relatively traditional mode as the Benevento-Duo gigs at Omaha, NEs Sokol Underground.
