On Saturday, Bill Nershis Honkytonk Homeslice celebrated the release of its new self-titled studio album at San Franciscos 12 Galaxies. As a treat, the trio, which also includes Nershis wife Jilian and friend Scott Law, performed the new album in its entirety during its first set. Though Nershi didnt discuss of his upcoming departure from String Cheese Incident, he did tell the stories behind a number of his songs. The group then returned for a second set and an encore, which included String Cheese Incident numbers like One Step Closer and Black Clouds, as well as Bob Dylans Quinn the Eskimo. Honkytonk Homeslice will perform at Ski Jam in January.
