Umphreys McGee performance at Charlotte, NCs Amos’ Southend Saturday featured a number of round-robin collaborations. During the groups second set Outformation percussionist Jeff ‘Birddog’ Lane, who opened the show, emerged for Partyin Peeps. Soon after keyboardist Justin Powell appeared on Great American. Finally, Mother Vinegar drummer, and Pharmers Almanac editor, Kevin Cassels played drums on a cover of Led Zeppelins Immigrant Song. Umphreys McGee will appear at Norfolk, VAs The NorVa tomorrow. Mother Vinegar will also open for Umphrey’s McGee March 1 at Asheville, NCs The Orange Peel March 1. Mother Vinegar hit the stage at 8:30 Pm that night (contrary to the time listed on the group’s webpage).
