The New Deals tour schedule has slowed considerably as bassist Dan Kurtz has focused his attention on his new indie-pop project Dragonette. In order to fulfill their upcoming dates and gig more regularly, New Deal drummer Darren Shearer and keyboardist Jamie Shields have developed The JOIN, a musical unit that will host a revolving door of musicians depending on where the duo is playing. The New Deals previously announced west coast tour will mark The JOINs official debut. For these shows Sound Tribe Sector 9 bassist David Murphy will fill the groups revolving third spot. As of press time the trio have four confirmed dates: Los Angeles Knitting Factory (5/16), San Franciscos The Independent (5/17-18), and Palm Springs, CAs Joshua Tree Music Festival (5/19).
