Soul-diva Sharon Jones will join Booker T. & The MG’s for a pair of free New York performances this week. Tonight, Jones will sing lead with the legendary Stax backing band at 7 PM in New Yorks Rockefeller Park. Then, tomorrow, Jones will join Booker T. & The MG’s for a noon performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Musics MetroTech. Jones is gearing up for the release of her next album with the Dap-Kings, 100 Days, 100 Nights, which is scheduled for release on September 25.The disc was recorded in the groups self-built, self-operated, all analog recording studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The Dap-Kings will also kick off a summer tour July 14 at Brooklyn, NYs American Roots Festival, before making stops in Ottawa, Calgary, AB, New York, Aspen, Telluride and Denver, CO.
