As first reported by Relix.com, on Saturday Page McConnell and his band played a in Springfield, VT at the hometown premiere for the The Simpsons Movie. McConnell delivered a spirited set of solo material with his solo band in the Chittenden Bank parking lot which located is next to the Springfield Theatre. At the end of his set, McConnell brought out his former Phish bandmate Mike Gordon for versions of ‘Back in the Basement’ and ‘Cars Trucks Buses, the latter of which featured numerous Simpsons-theme teases (a theme Phish often played in the days of its secret language). Nodding to Spinal Taps appearance on the Simpsons, McConnell ended his set by saying ‘good night Springton. There will be no encore!’
