While rumors continue to swirl regarding a potential Zed Zeppelin tour with Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, Plant has another intriguing project under his belt for the fall. On October 23, Rounder Records will release Raising Sand, a disc he recorded with Alison Krauss. T Bone Burnett produced the release which also features Mike Seeger on a range of instruments, as well as guitarists Marc Ribot and Norman Blake, drummer Jay Bellerose and Dennis Crouch on bass. The two celebrated vocalists swap off lead vocals and also entwine harmonies on the disc which offers thirteen tracks including songs by Tom Waits (Trampled Rose), Mel Tillis (Stick With Me Baby), Townes Van Zandt (Nothin’), The Everly Brothers (Gone, Gone, Gone (Done Moved On)) and the relatively recent Page-Plane composition Please Read The Letter.
